Budgets for the production of films have grown significantly, so now, only those are able to shoot a movie that can attract the capital of the industry giants. But what should those who have come with the original idea, but have not found the means to implement it, do? The world of the crypto-industry promises to answer this question. We already wrote about the initiative from Korea, but the interest of the film industry was not limited to this project only. Hollywood continues to show interest in the world of the cryptocurrency and technologies. At the Block Seoul conference we met and talked with Marcello MARI, who is actively pushing the idea of the blockchain into the Dreams World.

In the modern movie industry, there is such a situation that if you are not from "super tops", then it is very difficult to create movies. Moreover, the period of waiting for the return of the invested funds is about a year, which makes the film market inaccessible to independent producers."
According to Marcello MARI, that is why so many Avengers, Transformers and other high-budget films come out, while the share of auteur high-quality cinema is much smaller. The democratization of the market is a long-standing, urgent need, which many film producers want to solve with the help of the blockchain.
"In this case, the crypto will work as an intermediary uniting all those involved in the process, which immediately disallow a whole range of issues: there is no problem of distribution, of receiving money from a variety of different distribution channels, besides, cryptocurrencies work as an excellent tool for optimizing and controlling expenses: the blockchain perfectly allows you to control all financial aspects. By means of the blockchain, everything becomes much more transparent, in fact, everyone will be able to monitor how the invested money has been spent," - Mr. MARI says.
Nevertheless, the blockchain and everything connected with it is still a mystery for people in the movie industry, since the cinema is very traditional and conservative, and innovations in it are rare. Therefore, unfortunately, there are not enough people who look at the blockchain as at the solution of the problems. There are some examples in the sphere of logistics, distribution or production, but just yet very few are looking for a way to more systematic and profound application. In addition, there is a very subtle aspect: will Hollywood producers allow to introduce the blockchain into the holy of holies of the movie industry - film budgets, where they have decided for decades who will get the funding and become a star, and who will not.
For this reason, it is now important to present a product working in Hollywood: this is a priority for the promotion of the blockchain at the Dream Factory. And Marcello MARI is confident that when people in the film industry understand that it's more profitable, transparent, and safer with the use of the blockchain, then everyone will start using it: "Hollywood can count money, and this way of earning and saving will certainly be interesting for it. We understand perfectly well: we should not wait for the first-magnitude producers to immediately buy into this idea, but I am sure that as soon as the blockchain shows its worth in the cinema, many will immediately begin to apply it."
