South African teenager kidnapped, criminals demand $120,000 ransom in Bitcoin

Recently there has been another kidnapping in the province of Mpumalanga, South Africa. This is a common crime in this country and even some famous actors have suffered from this, but this case is still unique due to the demand made by criminals - 15 bitcoins.

At the press time, 15 bitcoins is $117 900,08, which is still a big sum even despite the recent drop of Bitcoin from $8000 to $7860. What makes the matters even worse - the parents are shocked. The police implies it was hard for them to understand this phenomenon they never heard about before.

Katlego Marite has been kidnapped in broad daylight when playing with his friends by unidentified offenders who used a car to swiftly disappear from the crime scene, as further explained by the spokesman of the local police. The news messages on the disappearance of the 13-year-old boy are currently multiplying in the South African media and outlets of the neighboring countries. Some sources say he is one year younger.

In Russia, the popular video blogger has been assaulted in his house by people who allegedly heard about his successful Bitcoin trading, when burglars realized he had money in cash, they took a safe instead of kidnapping him. Later it became known about the untimely passing of the same blogger.
