In collaboration with Kazakhstan’s top government agencies, Binance today announced the beginning of an education program that will provide blockchain training to 40,000 people by 2026.
Binance collaborates with the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Education of Kazakhstan, and the Center for the Development of Payment and Financial Technologies of the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan to carry out this massive initiative.
The Memorandum of Cooperation was signed today by Mr. Madiev, the General Manager of Binance Kazakhstan, Mr. Zhalenov, the Chairman of the Board of the Center for the Development of Payment and Financial Technologies of the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Mr. Musin, the Minister of Digital Development, Innovations, and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In accordance with the agreement, Binance will offer educational resources and support to create and carry out the fundamental educational program on compliance and blockchain for Universities.
As one of the first nations to do so, Kazakhstan will incorporate the fundamentals of blockchain technology into all of its university programs. The global blockchain industry will turn to experts with knowledge of blockchain, digital assets, and compliance for assistance.
This initiative is the result of a meeting in May of this year between Changpeng Zhao (CZ), co-founder and CEO of Binance, and Mt. Tokaev, the president of Kazakhstan, during which they discussed collaboration in blockchain and cryptocurrency education. Later in June, Astana Hub and the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan’s Center for the Development of Payment and Financial Technologies established the Research Lab “Blockchain Center” to advance the blockchain sector and create and implement national education initiatives.
The AIFC Financial Services Authority (AFSA) of Kazakhstan granted Binance a permanent licence in October 2022 to run a platform for digital assets and offer custody services at the Astana International Financial Center. The permanent licence certifies Binance’s strict compliance and security controls and grants it the status of a regulated platform in Kazakhstan.
“We support Kazakhstan’s goal to become a leading player in digital technologies, which would not be possible without enhancing education and blockchain adoption throughout the nation,” said Gleb Kostarev, Asia Regional Head at Binance. Education has always been important to Binance, and Binance Academy is one of the biggest learning institutions in the blockchain sector. Our collaboration with state organisations in Kazakhstan is a further step toward bringing open and norm-setting blockchain and cryptocurrency education.
